Cape Town - A secluded beach, pristine in its white sand and piercing blue water, palm trees swaying in the cool breeze and a warm sun beating down at just the right temperature to ensure that perfectly golden tan.
The Caribbean islands sound like the picture-perfect honeymoon destination, right?
It seems Prince Harry (33) and Meghan Markle (36) think so too – if hearsay’s anything to go by.
According to The Metro, the dashing prince and his gorgeous fiancée could very well choose the island of Nevis for their honeymoon. And there are a number of reasons why.
Harry first visited the idyllic spot with his mother, Princess Diana, in 1993.
Thirteen years later, in 2016, the prince returned on an official trip undertaken on behalf of his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II.
During that one-day visit Harry released baby turtles into the waters at Lovers Beach, one of the world’s most private beaches.
PopSugar writes that the couple have also received an open invitation from the Prime Minister of Antigua to spend their honeymoon on the bigger of the two Caribbean islands.
“At the moment nothing has been booked, but expect a decision to be made within a month,” a source told US Weekly.
“Once the decision has been made, they’ll have a security team fly out to do reconnaissance and the info will be confidential. Should anything get out they would feel the trip’s compromised and pick a new destination.”
Whether the happy couple will celebrate their nuptials at the speculated destination remains to be seen. But a friend of the former Suits actress revealed opting for one of the Caribbean islands might not be too far-fetched.
“Both of them want to be somewhere hot and sunny for two weeks,” this pal told US Weekly.
Considering there’s heat, sunshine and privacy, Nevis and Antigua make perfect locations.
