Cape Town - What’s a royal occasion without another set of adorable family snaps?

After Prince Louis' christening at the chapel at St James’ Palace on Monday, 9 July Kensington Palace has released a beautiful new set of snaps of the tot and his family.

The two-month-old was baptised in an intimate ceremony at the palace chapel, where Prince George (4) was christened back in October 2013.

The youngest royal was swathed in an embroidered silk and lace robe for the occasion, the same one donned by his big brother and sister, Princess Charlotte (3) on their special days.

The exquisite gown is a replica of the Honiton lace, satin-lined gown commissioned by Queen Victoria in 1841. It was worn by more than 60 royals before it was retired in 2008, when the Queen Elizabeth had the replica made to keep the original preserved, according to a royal press release.

After the ceremony, the royals and their loved ones set off for a spot of tea and cake at Clarence House, where renowned portrait photographer, Matt Holyoak, took the special photos.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex and Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall were all at the church for the special day, but the queen and Prince Philip were noticeably absent.
