A sheriff has served a government entity with a notice to attach assets worth R1.5 million after it failed to pay a manager, dismissed in July 2020, his outstanding salary.
Johannesburg Labour Court Acting Judge Werner Kruger ordered the Education, Training and Development Practices (ETDP) Sector Education and Training Authority (SETA) to pay Mahomed Sader salaries owed for 15 months by the end of February.
After the ETDP SETA allegedly did not comply with the order, Sader successfully applied for a writ of execution and an attachment order which was delivered to the statutory body's offices in Marshalltown, Johannesburg, on Wednesday by the deputy sheriff of Johannesburg Central.
