uMkhonto weSizwe Party founder Jabulani Khumalo has told the Constitutional Court he has not resigned as the party’s leader, and says he suspects a letter confirming his purported exit was forged by Jacob Zuma’s daughter Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla.
"I reasonably suspect that she forged it or is aware of the person that forged it because I have been informed by the IEC [Electoral Commission of South Africa] that it was sent to them by her," he stated in an affidavit filed at the apex court on Thursday.
Khumalo has sought to dispute Zuma’s authority to engage in litigation against the IEC over the former president’s eligibility to serve in the National Assembly.
