The contentious uMkhonto weSizwe trademark at the centre of the copyright infringement court tussle between the ANC and the uMkhonto weSizwe Party (MKP), has been registered as belonging to the ANC.
A document obtained via a Companies and Intellectual Property Commission's (CPIC) search shows that the trademark, which used to be owned by Legacy Projects, has since been "assigned" to the ANC.
Rapitse Montsho, one of Legacy Project's directors, spoke to News24 and confirmed receiving the CIPC document, which details the trademark's history and its assignment from Legacy Projects to the ANC, which was filed by law firm, Kisch Africa Inc.
