There must be little doubt that Arthur Fraser would lay serious charges against Cyril Ramaphosa willy-nilly and without any credible evidence. That and the confidence with which he laid those charges appears to rule out the possibility that they are trumped-up charges with little or no merit or substance, writes Ebrahim Harvey.

While it is true that the shocking news concerning the dramatic revelations about what happened in February 2020 on President Cyril Ramaphosa's Phala Phala game farm might, at first glance, warrant that he either resigns or is pushed out of office, upon further reflection, I argue that it requires a review of that course of action and conclusion and a more balanced, nuanced and sober analysis.

Former spy boss Arthur Fraser's laying of criminal charges earlier this month against Ramaphosa arguably consists of the most damning allegations Ramaphosa has ever faced since he succeeded former president, Jacob Zuma, early in 2018, after winning the presidency of the ANC in December 2017.
