In a twist that no one saw coming Silke Geugis is the first woman to turn down a rose from Marc Buckner in the second season of The Bachelor SA.

The 26-year-old caught Marc's attention on the first night when she presented him with a thoughtful gift, and he, in turn, gave her the first impression rose.

While there was a mutual attraction between the two and Marc wanted to get to know her better, he didn't tick all the boxes for Silke. There was one thing she just wasn't willing to compromise on – her religion.

We spoke to Silke about her decision to leave and get down to the bottom of her conflict with some of the other women in the house.

When did you know you would not be accepting a rose from Marc at the ceremony?

After our last conversation at the cocktail party, I knew that we would not be able to be in a love relationship, but it was a tough decision, and I only made up my mind at the rose ceremony that it would be best to leave on the night.

When talking to him, I could see that he didn't want me to go and that he was willing to make an effort on the things that were important to me. But that's not what I wanted. At the end of the day, I wanted him to want those things for himself and not for me. He's 36, so I knew that wasn't changing anytime soon. So, I knew it was my time to go because I did not want to waste anyone's time.

Is there anything Marc could have said or done to have changed your mind?

No. Unfortunately, I had seen enough up until that point to know that we had different views about things that I hold very close to my heart. I was not and am not willing to budge on those things for anyone, not even someone like Marc.

Did you confide in anyone that you were thinking about leaving?

Yes, Rikki and I grew extremely close in the house, and I shared my thoughts of leaving with her at the cocktail party. That's why you see her in tears at the rose ceremony. She knew what I was about to do and is an amazing human being. I also told Bridget and Jess C, but I don't think they believed I would do it.

What was the root of the conflict and animosity between you and Nolo, and you and Qiniso?

Nolo and I never had a direct argument and only had some bad blood between us because of the way that she treated Bridget. She made her cry. Much like how I am outside the house, I do not appreciate it when someone is rude or disrespectful towards my friends. Nolo's bold move at the cocktail party upset many of the girls, but I still don't think how the girls reacted was fair, regardless of her behaviour.

I do have to admit, though, that I was her hurt last week when she pegged me in her exit interview as the show's biggest liar. I'm not sure where that came from.

In a house with 21 girls, there's bound to be conflicting personalities and people you don't get on with. Qiniso and I did not click from the beginning. She always had to have the last say, not respecting the fact that some of the girls were, in fact, private and quiet individuals. She was very overpowering at times or made herself out to be the victim. It just became too much for me. I pride myself on being very real and honest, no matter how it makes me come across and am not sure whether Qiniso can say the same about herself.

Looking back do you feel you were a bit harsh on Qiniso? You did say 'she was the only person you would do that to'.

I was not harsh with Qiniso at all. If you look back on the episode, I was not the one name-calling and being aggressive at any stage. I was waiting in line to talk to Marc, and she came out of nowhere that night. I also didn't have any sort of pact with her about who was going to talk to Marc first, and I definitely didn't call her "weak" or "sensitive" as she quoted to Marc. I was offended by comments about being a "fake bitch", and two-faced "diablo", as it's not a true reflection of who I am. I am a Christian woman, and God is an important part of my life.

You have been getting a lot of heat on social media about being a mean girl – how do you feel about it?

If the harshest thing that people can call me is "mean", I'm okay with that. I know who I am, and the people close to me do too. I'm very proud of myself for staying true throughout the show. If standing up for my friends and not being okay with bullying is mean, then call me the mean girl #onwednesdayswewearpink.

Who do you think isn't there for the right reasons, and why?

I think a few of the girls have underlying alternative motives for being on the show. However, I do not think that it's my place to call these girls to attention. That's not in my personality, and I also don't feel the need to hit back at the girls who have had a go at me. The truth will come out in the end, as it always does.

Are you still looking for love?

Currently, I am absolutely in love with an amazing man and so very happy. I finally found my God-loving Prince Charming, and he is gorgeous too! I couldn't ask for anything more.
