Honouring a legend: Peter 'Mashata' Mabuse's life to be celebrated with memorial and tribute concert

The life of murdered Pretoria businessman and entertainer Peter 'Mashata' Mabuse will be honoured in a memorial service on Thursday. It will take place at the Tshwane University of Technology's Pretoria West Campus from 14:00. 

Mashata was shot and killed when an unknown number of assailants fired shots at the vehicle he was travelling in after his All Black With Mashata event at Epozini Lifestyle in Soshanguve during the early hours of Sunday.

The person he was travelling with sustained injuries, reportedly in the form of a shot to his left shoulder. 

In addition to the memorial service, flowers can be dropped off at his family's home in Block U, Mabopane, from 14:00 to 17:00 on Saturday, 27 April. His funeral service will be held the following day at the Akasia Community Hall from 08:00. 

To celebrate his musical prowess, a tribute concert will be held on Thursday evening at Emperors Palace. The proceeds are expected to be given to the Mabuse family. 

Police have since opened murder and attempted murder dockets for investigation and requested those with information to contact 08600 10111.
