An Abha Club star has now heaped praise on South African head coach Pitso Mosimane.

Saad Bguir, the Leaders of the South's captain, recently sat down for an interview with Al-Riyadiah, and opened up about the club's struggles this season.

The Saudi Pro League side currently sits in 16th position, which is one of three relegation spots, despite their 3-1 victory over Al-Ittihad on Friday night.

Mosimane seemingly has a mammoth task of rescuing the team from the drop as they will have to get positive results in their upcoming games against Damac, Al Ahli, Al-Khaleej and Al Hazm.

Bguir recently shared his thoughts on the South African's coaching tenure at Abha to date, highlighting the positive impact the coach has had on the club during a challenging period.

"A good coach who came at a sensitive time and a difficult period," the Tunisian midfielder remarked, reflecting on Mosimane's arrival at the club, per Al-Riyadiah

"He gave everything he had and we won many matches with him, and I wish him success in the remaining rounds."

Under Mosimane's leadership, Abha have seemingly found their footing with four wins and two draws in his four-month spell so far.

The midfielder was also quizzed about why the team has struggled this season.

"The work from the beginning of the season was not good and the selection of new assignments was also unsuccessful," Bguir added.

"In addition, the club president gave his deputy the task of supervising the team and he did not have sufficient experience for that, which led the team to where it is now.

"The management and the players (are responsible), but the management is the one that bears the state of the team now, as it is the one that attracted the current players who did not add anything new.

Bguir has completed a 90-minute match on only two occasions under Mosimane, drawing questions as to why the captain has fallen down the pecking order, but the player has given the reasoning for his lack of first-team action.

"There is no secret, clear reason, or intentionality for my sitting on the bench," the 30-year-old revealed.

"The coach came and I played the first match with him, and then the circumstances of my travel to Tunisia for family reasons meant I missed three matches, then gradually I returned to the line-up."
