We celebrate Terry Pheto’s 37th birthday by looking at film roles she totally slayed.
Her stunning smile and humility is one of our favourite things about her, but our fave is her talent!
Whenever we see her on screen, she plays whatever character in the most convincing way possible; it’s almost impossible not to be in that moment with her. In celebration of this amazing woman’s birthday, we put together five roles we think she absolutely nailed!
1. Mirriam in Tsotsi. Who can forget Terry playing the innocent, loving mother in the 2005 Oscar winning feature film Tsotsi.

2. Winnie Madikizela Mandela in Madiba. There’s no doubt, Terry is our favourite “Winnie”; this role even scored her the Best Actress award in the TV or Drama category in the 2017 International Achievement Recognition Awards (IARA) held in London.
3. Naledi Khama in A United Kingdom. Terry is no stranger to winning awards, in 2017; she won another ‘Best Actress’ IARA award for the role of Naledi in the film A United Kingdom.

4. Dr. Malaika Maponya on The Bold and the Beautiful. She made South Africa proud when she played the role of a heart surgeon, Dr. Malaika Maponya on the legendary American soap opera, The Bold and the Beautiful.

5. Her role in Ayanda. Even though she did not star in this one, it made it on our list because Terry was the producer for the film ‘Ayanda’ that was screened at the 2016 Cannes Film Festival in France.
