For as long as rapper Emtee became a star, there have been constant rumors that the self-proclaimed ‘trap-king’ is heavily on drugs and alcohol. This past weekend, his performance in Durban gave people yet another reason to talk about his alleged ‘druggie’ ways. Emtee could hardly move and even rap on stage as hundreds of fans watched the star struggle to even stand still while performing one of his loved hits Roll-Up.
CELEBRITIES CONCERNED
It was hard for celebrities to hold back when they saw the trending video. DJ Sbu tweeted: “We all make mistakes. I know fame is not an easy thing to deal with. Use this opportunity to change your life. You are a king. Rise soldier.”
But Emtee maintains that he fell-off of stage and that maintains that he is not on drugs and alcohol, he tweeted: “I don’t do drugs, my dad would whip my ass.” He went on to tweet: “I don’t do alcohol, I sell it,” this referring to his vodka which he launched in 2017. From the ample videos taken on the day of his performance, in one, he is recorded being carried-off stage, fans refused to believe that it was just fatigue and exhaustion from performances and travelling he did that .
Fellow rapper Cassper Nyovest responded to a Tweet from Emtee’s fan, he tweeted: “Stop the gangster trap talk niggas. Wake Up! This is South Africa! This ain’t cool. You guys are very talented and people love you. Please stop with the don’t care attitude cause it’s only going to hurt you and the guy you say is your brother. Help him!” Other rappers like Reason reached out to Emtee and all he said in a tweet is that what Emtee was going through was deeper than what it looks like.
