Reflecting on how the collaboration materialised, she recalls, "They were basically hunting for me for like a week. Somebody called me and said, Samsung wants to work.' I was really excited though."

For her, partnering with Samsung was a dream come true, an affirmation of her journey in the industry.

With a career spanning six years, Kamo Mphela is no stranger to the ebbs and flows of the entertainment industry. When asked about the secret to her longevity, she emphasizes the importance of uniqueness, hard work, and self-education.

"I think just being unique and hard work," she states, "I think also educating yourself about the industry is really important." Her resilience and commitment to growth have propelled her forward, ensuring that she remains relevant and impactful amidst a rapidly evolving landscape.

Kamo Mphela's journey began with a viral video showcasing her electrifying dance moves. However, her foray into music, particularly with hits like "Jobe" and “Amanikiniki” has been equally transformative.

Reflecting on this transition, she shares, "It's not easy... the transitioning because people knew me as a dancer... The only reason I started using the Internet was to grow more of my following with dance."

In an era dominated by digital platforms, social media plays a pivotal role in shaping an artist's trajectory.

Kamo Mphela acknowledges it's significance while emphasising the importance of a multifaceted approach.

"I think social media plays a big role in pushing your product," she acknowledges, "but it's not the core of who you are." For her, authenticity and craftsmanship remain paramount, ensuring longevity beyond fleeting trends.

Beyond her role as a Samsung ambassador, Kamo Mphela's aspirations extend to music and entrepreneurship. "Just more of, like, legendary stuff that I've always dreamed of doing," she affirms, "You know, Samsung is one of them."

Reflecting on her journey, Kamo Mphela offers sage advice to aspiring artists. She underscores the importance of self-education, resilience, and maintaining a close-knit circle.

"If you're trying to be the next mega superstar, just study a lot about the industry," she advises, "Just educate yourself. Know how music works, know how bookings work, know what a team is.”

Amid the glitz and glamour of the entertainment industry, Kamo Mphela remains grounded by her roots and family ties.

When asked about her driving force, she candidly admits, "My family, to be quite honest, my family keeps me going. There's really nothing else."

Her journey from a humble upbringing in eZola/Mndeni, Soweto, to becoming a household name speaks volumes about her determination and resilience.
