Rapper Kiernan “AKA” Forbes finally decided to speak out on The Thembekile Talk with Thembekile Mrototo on Saturday evening.

However, this highly anticipated interview ended abruptly when the video was removed from YouTube after just 10 minutes.

It appears the interview had been removed due to the poor sound quality and a new video with better sound quality was uploaded.

It was a surprising move not to have this interview conducted by someone closer to the fraternity of hip-hop.

Given the severity of AKA’s predicament, a seasoned news practitioner would best help facilitate his telling of the events.

It also would have made a lot more sense for him to mount his public defence on a free-to-air platform.

He specifically said he would rather not have to do this interview, but given the events of last week, he felt he had to, and welcomed the cameras into his home.

Last week, reports surfaced of his relationship with Anele “Nellie” Tembe being a lot more tumultuous than we thought. The images allude to what very well could have been an abusive relationship, which AKA has denied.

He recalls having had the best time with his fiancée on the weekend of her passing – they had lunch with friends.

However, the week before that, they had been experiencing a particularly difficult time in their relationship.

He conceded to this in the poorly put together interview.

It was hard to hear him during the interview as he did not have a mic and although Mrototo did his best to ask the burning questions on everybody’s mind, the interview disappeared from YouTube.

All in all, AKA gave us a few minutes of his truth – a month after the tragic death of his fiancée.
