Speaking to The Juice Oliver's South African booking agent, Kevin Stuart, confirmed the tragic news.
According to Kevin the musician had been hospitalised in early December.
No further details surrounding his death has been made public.
"The family are requesting space during this difficult time and will release an official statement within 24 hours," he said.
Cape Town - According to several reports Zimbabwean musician Oliver Mtukudzi has died. He was 66.
Zimbabwean publication Masvingo Mirror broke the news on Wednesday.
"Music icon Oliver Mtukudzi has passed on. The Mirror has it on good authority that he died in the last 40 minutes in the ICU at the Avenues Clinic in Harare," the publication tweeted.
According to HealthTime a family member confirmed the tragic news.
No official statement has been released, and several attempts to reach Ngoma Nehosho and Gallo Records has been unsuccessful.
