Johannesburg – On Tuesday Trevor Noah attended the Harlem School of the Arts Mask Ball where he presented Black Panther star Lupita Nyong'o and her mom Dorothy with the Visionary Lineage Award.
Does this make them best friends? According to their Instagram posts…maybe.
Sharing a photo of himself suited up alongside Lupita and her mother, Trevor wrote: "Last night it was truly an honour to present the HAS Visionary Award to Dorothy and Lupita Nyong'o. And I'm not saying I'm @lupitanyongo's best friend in the whole world but they didn't pick anyone else to hand over the awards so…"
Playing along, Lupita posted the same pic on her social media account, joking: "I'm not saying I am @TrevorNoah's best friend, but he did come out on his day off to present me and my mom with the Harlem School of the Arts Lineage Award so…"
Well, Lupita is said to be playing Trevor's mom in an upcoming movie about the comedian's life, which means that they must have spent a lot of time together. So who knows, maybe they are best friends after all.
