Cape Town - Former Generations: The Legacy actress Thuli Phongolo says being on TV while she was still a high school learner was – surprisingly – really good for her.
Thuli, who played Namhla Diale – a high school learner on the soapie – tweeted that it was a "nice" experience for her even though she had to skip school at times.
“I won’t lie, it was kinda nice being in high school and on tv. It meant so much more back then... I made small change but it was everything to me. I was so fulfilled. Young and flying, [sic]” she wrote.

Skipping school was not leading by example to other learners as she was a prefect. She is the first to admit that she was the worst prefect due to her jobs.
“I was a prefect but I was the worst of the year. I was always skipping school for work, I had to two jobs... Craz-e and Tshisa. Young, popular, small change in pockets (which seemed like a lot) and unbothered!” she tweeted.

After exiting the soapie, Thuli concentrated on her deejaying and fashion careers.
However, she has returned on our small screens and now plays a lead role on SABC’s Makoti and Mzansi Magic’s The Republic.
