The most popular pageants called the "The Big Four" consists of the four major international beauty pageants for women: Miss World, Miss Universe, Miss Earth and Miss International.
Polish your crown, adjust your sash and mark your calendars with these important details.
1. Miss Earth 2019
Miss Earth 2019 will be crowned on 26 October in the Philippines.
The pageant is an annual international environmental-themed beauty pageant competition promoting environmental awareness and responsibility.
Representing South Africa on the big night is Miss Earth South Africa 2018 Nazia Wadee. Take a look at her national costume here.
2. Miss International 2019
Miss International 2019 will be held on 12 November at Tokyo Dome City Hall in Bunkyo district.
Contestants from 85 countries and territories will participate in this year's Miss International pageant, surpassing the previous record of 77 contestants in 2018, making this edition as the biggest turnout in the pageant's history.
25-year old Nicole Middleton will represent South Africa in Tokyo.
3. Miss World
Miss World 2019 returns to London on 14 December for the pageant's 69th year.
The opening ceremony will be held in London, with each contestant competing in a series of fast track events that guarantee a place in the top 30.
The last Miss World to be crowned in London was our very own Rolene Strauss in 2014. Before her, Anneline Kriel won in 1974, and Penelope Coelen won in 1958.
The current Miss World is Vanessa Ponce of Mexico who was crowned on 8 December 2018 in Sanya, China.
Miss South Africa 2019 runner-up Sasha-Lee Olivier is heading to London to take part in the 2019 Miss World competition.
4. Miss Universe
Miss Universe 2019 will be the 68th edition of the Miss Universe competition. The pageant will take place on 8 December, and the host country is yet to be announced.
Catriona Gray of the Philippines will crown her successor at the end of the event.
Steve Harvey will host the pageant on his fifth consecutive year of Miss Universe. A new crown made by luxury jeweller Mouawad will be used this year.
Miss South Africa 2019 Zozibini Tunzi, who has already been identified as a front-runner, will represent the country at the global beauty competition.
