Trevor Noah may be spending lockdown in his home in New York, but he's got South Africa on his mind.

Teaming up with ViacomCBS for their #AloneTogether campaign that aims to communicate the importance of social distancing to flatten the COVID-19 curve, The Daily Show host says in a video message: "Coronavirus has taken over the world, my friends. We're stuck in our houses, they've told us we can't go outside. And now we're stuck, waiting for this 21 days to end.

"All over the world we're going through the same thing and all I can ask you, my fellow South Africans, is to, guys, please, let's work together on this. Some people do need to go to work, some people have to go outside, but let's make it safer for them by playing our part."

The 36-year-old has a few suggests of things you can do during the two weeks left of the lockdown: "You can stay at home, you can FaceTime with your friends, and you can braai indoors, just don't burn down your mom's kitchen.

"Until that time is over, let's do this thing and let's beat coronavirus. Stay safe, everybody."
