Although BET’s Dream: The Lebo Mathosa Story is only on episode two, it has already had mixed reviews from viewers since its premiere.

Some of the criticism has been with regards to; the authenticity of the production, the cast and how the show apparently leaves out a huge part of the songstress’s career, Boom Shaka.

Member of the group, Junior, recently echoed similar sentiments.

Speaking to Sunday Sun, Junior Sokhele revealed that he doesn’t watch the show as it is not a portrayal of the Lebo he knew.

“I don’t watch the show but from what I have heard the Lebo Mathosa they are portraying is not the one who was my sister” he said.

He added “I didn’t go to the launch because I didn’t get the invite. Even if I had received the invite. I wouldn’t have gone. I heard someone said they don’t want me there.”

The show has gone through a number of hurdles to date, from changing Kelly Khumalo who was initially cast to play Lebo and replacing her with KB Motsilanyane to withstanding social media backlash.

KB responded to the allegations of her portrayal of Lebo saying her intentions were not to be her but simply tell her story.
