Whoopi Goldberg joins the list of stars who are practising social distancing and working from home.

The talk-show host began remotely co-hosting The View from her New Jersey home as a way to practise social distancing during the coronavirus pandemic.

In the most recent episode of The View, co-host Sunny Hostin explained Whoopi’s absence.

"Life as we know it just keeps changing every single day, which is why our fearless leader, Whoopi, is joining us from home now."

In the video, Whoopi is streaming in while her co-hosts are in the studio. Whoopi then gives detailed information on her situation. "I went to the doctor yesterday to check myself out – just to make sure – and he gives me the all-clear to go to work and I'm getting ready to do it, and then I start hearing these inconsistent messages from everyone."

According to CNN, there are more than 8 700 cases across all 50 states in the United States, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands – with 115 fatalities.
