WATCH: Meryl Streep wants answers in the first trailer for 'Big Little Lies' season 2

Cape Town – You might have missed it during the Game of Thrones hype on Sunday, but HBO dropped the first teaser trailer for Big Little Lies season two.

In the 1-minute clip, we see the Monterey Five, Madeline (Reese Witherspoon), Celeste (Nicole Kidman), Jane (Shailene Woodley), Renata (Laura Dern), and Bonnie (Zoë Kravitz) in the aftermath of the murder of Celeste's abusive husband Perry (Alexander Skarsgard).

We also get a first look at Academy-Award winner Meryl Streep as Mary Louise Wright, Perry's mom – who has come to the town to find out what happened to her son.

"I want to know what happened that night," she tells Madeline. "Very tempted to ask you, but I don't think I would get the truth, would I?"
