Johannesburg – Hollywood icon Forest Whitaker has made the move from the big screen to the small screen with his hard-hitting crime drama Godfather of Harlem.
Taking on the lead role of Ellsworth Raymond "Bumpy" Johnson, Forest tells the story of the Harlem mob boss' reign during the early 60s, weaving in iconic characters like Malcolm X and Adam Clayton Powell Jr to create a gripping storyline.
While in South Africa to promote the show, Forest sat down with Channel24 to give us the inside scoop on bringing Bumpy Johnson to life and what it was like working behind the camera as executive producer.
