This was the hardest scene for Elisabeth Moss to film in 'The Handmaid's Tale' – and it might not be what you expect

Cape Town – The Handmaid's Tale is, without a doubt, one of the most difficult television series to watch.

Set in Gilead, a totalitarian society, the women face extreme oppression.

During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Emmy award-winning actress Elisabeth Moss who plays the protagonist June revealed what her most challenging scene to film was and it involved a baby, cream cheese and jelly.

Elisabeth shared that the most challenging scene to film was in season 2 when her character gives birth.

"I had to give birth by myself, naked. We had a couple [babies]. There was one baby that, in order to get that post-birth look — the guck that comes on a baby — they put cream cheese and jelly on the baby."

She continued: "That baby was not 'aw.' That baby was not having it. Not having it. First of all, it smelled which is weird. The cream cheese and jelly was odd. And it hated it, so it was screaming so loud."
