Cape Town – You don't have to wait long to see a live-action version of The Little Mermaid – ABC is bringing it to a small screen near you.
The network announced on Monday that they will be doing a live concert production of the Disney classic as part of The Wonderful World of Disney franchise.
Auli'i Cravalho, best known for her role as the voice of Moana, will play Ariel. Queen Latifah has been cast as the villain Ursula and singer Shaggy as Sebastian.
The 18-year-old was excited to share the news on Instagram. She wrote: "From 'Beyond the Reef' to 'Under the Sea!' I am so excited for this project you have no idea."

According to CNN, the production will be a "hybrid format" that will include intricate sets and costumes and music from the 1989 film and 2008 stage version.
Singer Halle Bailey has been cast in Disney's live-action remake a release date has yet to be announced.
