'Suits' fans to get a double serving of courtroom drama as final season and spinoff air on the same night

Cape Town - It’s been quite the journey for beloved legal drama Suits: a world of slicker-than-your-average attorneys, fast-paced courtroom theatre, tumultuous interpersonal relationships – all set against the backdrop of the gorgeous New York skyline.

The ninth and final season will premiere on Thursday, 8 August 20:10 on M-Net (DStv 101).

The ensemble cast returns to the fray: Gabriel Macht, Rick Hoffman, Sarah Rafferty and recent initiates Dulé Hill and Katherine Heigl are back to pick up the pieces of last season’s fallout: After Robert Zane is disbarred, the rest of the firm (now known as ‘Zane Specter Litt Wheeler Williams’) are forced to contend with the repercussions of his departure.

Personal relationships are also under pressure as Harvey and Donna are forced to make tough decisions about how to move forward with their new relationship, and just as episode one’s title suggests: "Everything’s Changed".

The drama doesn’t stop there! Gina Torres slides into the much-anticipated Suits spin-off Pearson, reprising her role as the indomitable Jessica Pearson on the same day, Thursday 8 August at 21:10 on M-Net (DStv 101).

Recently disbarred and on a fierce mission to instigate change, the N.Y.C. powerhouse finds herself in the Mayor’s office of Chicago: a seedy world of corruption, blackmail and dirty politics. The former attorney has her work cut out for her in this lion’s den, where juggling her boss’s blatant disregard for the law, an ongoing rivalry with a colleague (who happens to be the person responsible for taking away her law license) and maintaining her already strained personal relationships are going to prove quite the challenge.

The cast includes Morgan Spector (Homeland) as Mayor Bobby Golec, Simon Kassianides (Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.), Bethany Joy Lenz (One Tree Hill) as Keri Allen, Chantel Riley (Wynnona Earp) as Angela, Isabel Arraiza (The Oath) as Yoli and Eli Goree (Ballers) as Derrick.
