'Stranger Things 3' breaks Netflix streaming record over four days

Cape Town - Stranger Things 3 is now Netflix's most watched show over four days, the streaming service has confirmed.

On Tuesday the streaming service revealed on their official Twitter account 40.7 million household accounts watched the show since its 4 July debut and that 18.2 million finished the season.

In June the Netflix movie Murder Mystery starring South African actor John Kani had the biggest opening ever for an original film. (Read more here)

Season 3 sees the original cast back in their small town of Hawkins, Indiana.

Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown), Mike (Finn Wolfhard), Will (Noah Schnapp), Max (Sadie Sink), Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo), and Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin), as well as Hopper (David Harbour), Joyce (Winona Ryder), Jonathan (Charlie Heaton), and Nancy (Natalia Dyer) have to stop a new threat from possessing the residents of their town.
