Cape Town – Sarah Paulson will not be starring in the upcoming season of American Horror Story.
The actress who has had a significant role in the previous eight seasons will reportedly not be returning in a significant role in American Horror Story: 1984.
According to Variety, she could have a cameo in the show.
This comes after the news that Evan Peters will also not be returning for the ninth season.
Evan who has been on the show since season one has played several characters on the anthology from a serial killer, a cult leader to an asylum patient.
In an interview with GQ, he revealed that the roles took a toll on his mental and emotional health.
"It's hurting my soul and Evan as a person. It's just exhausting. It's really mentally draining, and you don't want to go to those places ever in your life. And so you have to go there for the scenes, and it ends up integrating it somehow into your life," said Evan.
According to Screenrant the new season will pay homage to 1980s horror slasher movies.
