Cape Town – Imagine a reality TV show like Big Brother, but instead of a house the contestants live in an apartment block in separate apartments.
They must compete to ultimately be voted the most popular player in the game; however, they never get to meet each other in real-life.
Instead, they can only communicate via a social media app called The Circle – and online you can be whoever you want people to believe you are.
This is where things get interesting as players catfish, cheat, and scheme their way to the top and try their best to avoid being blocked from the game.
Once a player is blocked from The Circle they are replaced by a new player – Love Island style. The new players quickly play catch-up and manoeuvre their way through the game to make it into the inner-circle.

Based on the British version of the reality show, which aired live 24/7, this Netflix original releases four new pre-recorded episodes every week for three weeks. The first four episodes dropped on 1 January, the second batch drops 8 January and the final four will be available from 15 January.
The diverse cast, unexpected plot twists, and extremely interesting social dynamic makes the show unpredictable and addictive to watch. You never know what’s going to happen next and when a player is annoying you…well chances are they’ll be packing their bags sooner than you think.
The show’s narrator Michelle Buteau also adds a spicy dose of humour that’s absolutely delightful.
Once the bug bites you’ll be hooked and can easily devour the four episodes in one sitting. Just mention The Circle to anyone who has watched it and you’ll see their eyes light up with excitement to discuss what they think about each player.
The show is an interesting social experience and is packed with surprises which makes it fun to watch.
