9 new series to stream this weekend

Cape Town - Feel like you’ve seen it all? These series have just launched on internet TV and are waiting for your weekend binge-watch session.

1. The Deuce S2 (Showmax) 

The tables have turned. Porn is legal and a new legit industry is growing alongside the mafia bankrollers. Big money brings its own kind of troubles, but everyone wants to keep the party going in this trailblazing new season.

2. Brooklyn Nine-Nine S5 (Showmax)

3. The Oath S1 (Showmax)

What happens when the cops are criminals? This series focuses on such a gang, which will stop at nothing to protect itself - even killing other officers. Don't miss this first-rate thriller, produced by Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson.

4. The Chi S1 (Showmax)

Chicago is one of the US's most dangerous cities, especially for black residents. Emmett, Brandon, Ronnie and Kevin are all trying to make a life in the South Side neighbourhood when an act of violence connects them unexpectedly.

5. A Million Little Things (DStv Now)

In the series premiere of this emotional drama, a group of friends from Boston come together after tragedy strikes. From the Emmy-winning writer of Big Little Lies.

6. The Americans S6 (DStv Now)

In the sixth and final season premiere, a major arms control summit of great importance to the US and Russia looms, in the autumn of 1987. This critically acclaimed spy thriller follows the lives of two KGB agents.

7. Sick Note (Netflix)

After slacker Daniel Glass (Rupert Grint) is misdiagnosed with cancer, by a doctor played with brilliance (and an impressive beard) by Nick Frost, his lies lead him into an absurd web of fraud, blackmail, suspicion and misadventure.

8. Baby (Netflix)

Fed up with their families and classmates, two teen girls from a wealthy part of Rome are drawn to the city’s underworld and start living double lives. Based on a true story, this gritty, addictive drama is in Italian with English subtitles.

9. The Marvelous Mrs Maisel S2 (Amazon Prime)

In the Season Two premiere, Midge takes the stage for a foreign audience, while Abe and Rose find themselves in a new world. Susie experiences the repercussions of having a bad reputation in the business, as Joel regroups after quitting his job.
