At this stage of the show, most of the contestants are starting to face up to the reality that, although they might have built a relationship with Marc Buckner, he could easily drop them at any time.
And Jessica Calder from Cape Town experienced this in the latest episode of The Bachelor SA.
Getting the opportunity to go on a date with Marc was something the brunette beauty was looking forward to.
She realised she’d have to fight to prove her love for Marc against another woman – something that she had grown tired of doing.
“I was finally happy, I was getting this one-on-one date and I was excited and then suddenly it’s a two-on-one and now I need to try and open up to him and tell him something to make him want me instead of Qiniso, which isn’t a great feeling,” Jessica tells YOU.
“To be honest, I’m feeling a bit blind-sided and I feel like I was never given a chance . . . but Marc and I maybe didn’t have anything.
“I feel like there was just a friendship and maybe he felt it as well so it was a good thing he gave the other girls a chance.”
While expressing disappointment about leaving the show, Jessica goes on to say that if ever she was granted an opportunity to speak to Marc again, she would have tons of questions, including why she never got to spend enough to with him.
The Capetonian's previous relationship was one of the highlights of the show as she used it to reach out to Marc and convey vulnerability. Unfortunately, Marc read the situation wrong and thought she was sulking over her ex.
Adamant that she’s healed from her past, Jessica is looking for a fairytale relationship and says she won’t stop until she gets it.
Growing up, she was surrounded by genuine love. She always felt that energy exuding from her grandparents and her parents, so is convinced that true love absolutely does exist and she’s ready for it.
“I’m so ready to fall in love and find my person so I’m just waiting to see what the universe has lined up for me and I do believe that everything happens for a reason and when the time is right, Mr Right will come into my life.”
The 27-year-old has tried finding love in different ways and now that the Bachelor didn’t work out for her either, is looking to go back to the drawing board.
“It’s very hard to meet people these days and going to bars would be the worst way,” Jessica said.
“I’ve tried Tinder many times. I’ve said to myself if I swipe 10 times on Tinder I must delete it 50 times and re-added to a point where I was just like: ‘Give Bachelor a chance’ . . . now it's back to the drawing board I guess."
Until her Prince Charming shows up, the Cape Town based baker now focuses on her career.
