While the world is practicing social distancing and South Africa is in lock down, a lot of plans and events have been postponed and even cancelled.
However, that doesn’t mean birthdays are cancelled too – you can still go all out while you stay inside.
Here’s a look at how our favourite celebrities celebrated their birthdays in isolation:
Nandi Madida
The 32-year-old media personality turned 32 on 20 March. She celebrated it live on Instagram, with her husband and kids in attendance – as well as her fans who could virtually join in on the fun.
Basetsana Khumalo
What’s a birthday without a cake? Businesswoman and former Miss SA Basetsana Khumalo celebrated her 46th birthday on 29 March and had the most gorgeous birthday cake.
Thandiswa Mazwai
SA musician Thandiswa celebrates her birthday this week and although she says she’d rather be on a beach somewhere in the world, she’s spending her day at home reminiscing about her last visit to the beach.
Elton John
Sir Elton celebrated his 73rd birthday I lockdown, surrounded by his family. He called it his best birthday celebration ever on Instagram.
Jessie J
The Price Tag hitmaker dedicated her special day to giving back. The 32-year-old musician put on a catsuit and sang songs on her Instagram live to “raise spirits and money” for those in need during the global pandemic.
Fergie
While social distancing, we appreciate the simple things all the more. Fergie, who recently turned 45, took time during her birthday to admire the natural beauty in her garden.
