The Weeknd just registered a song titled 'Like Selena' and it might be about his famous ex

Cape Town – Past relationships are an excellent source for inspiration: from Fleetwood Mac to Lizzo and of course Taylor Swift.

Sometimes you want the person back, sometimes you want the person totally out of your life. It seems hitmaker The Weeknd (born Abel Makkonen Tesfaye) is going through that myriad of emotions right now because according to US performance rights organisation ASCAP (American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers), he has registered the song titled, Like Selena.

Selena and The Weeknd were linked in January 2017 after being photographed kissing during a romantic date and broke up in October later that year.

The song has not been released yet, so we're not too sure if Abel wants someone just like the famous singer – who just released her own song which is reportedly about her previous relationship with Justin Bieber – or wants a different type of intimacy.

However, The Weeknd did release a song called Heartless on Wednesday.
