Cape Town - She’s seven months pregnant and glowing but songstress Tamara Dey’s career is looking pretty bright too!
Her latest album, Dey L’Afrique, is out for download on iTunes and she’s just come off a wave of success following her hit single, Colours, featuring DJ Zinhle. If that’s not enough, the mom-to-be on Thursday announced the release of her new single, Flying Stars, featuring Polamo and produced by DJ Maphorisa.
Tamara and Maphorisa have been working together since they collaborated on South Africa’s 2015 Rugby World Cup anthem, Habashwe, and it’s been a musical affair gone absolutely right.
“I’m a huge fan of DJ Maphorisa’s work and it was just one of those sessions where everything just flowed and all the right elements came together,” Tamara says.
“We had lots of fun in studio with this one as everyone was feeling very festive at the time.”
Maphorisa introduced Tamara to Ghanaian artist Polamo, who features on the track. The result is a catchy African pop/dance song that’s a must-have for the upcoming festive season and is sure to get bodies moving.
“I enjoyed working with Polamo – he brought such great flavour to the song,” she adds. “There’s so much craziness going on in the world right now. I hope my fans will enjoy the uplifting message and the summer party vibe of this track.”
