Cape Town - Embattled singer and songwriter R. Kelly has been in jail since July, following his arrest on charges including child pornography and enticement of a minor.
Now R. Kelly's lawyer has filed new legal docs, obtained by news publication TMZ, which outline his various medical issues including numbness in one of his hands, anxiety and an untreated hernia.
The 52-year-old's lawyer, Steve Greenberg, claims the singer is not receiving adequate medical treatment in the facility.
The chart-topper's arrest came after he was apprehended on a slew of sexual abuse charges earlier this year.
In May, the artist was charged with 11 counts of sexual assault in Illinois - charges that carry a mandatory minimum of six years in prison.
In February, R. Kelly was also charged with 10 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse involving four victims, three of whom were underage.
Kelly has pleaded not guilty in both cases and vigorously denied any wrongdoing.
Kelly has been in jail since he was arrested in July.
