Nasty C wins Musician Of The Year at the 2019 GQ Men Of The Year Awards

Cape Town - Nasty C took home the prestigious award for Musician Of The Year at the 2019 GQ Men Of The Year Awards held at the Houghton Hotel in Gauteng on Sunday night.

The GQ Men of the Year Awards ceremony honours people (of both genders) who shape South Africa's cultural landscape. 

Nasty C also graces one of three GQ covers that was released on Monday. The cover was photographed by Aart Verrips.

Last week Nasty C won two AFRIMA Awards for Best Rapper/Lyricist and Best Collaboration with Rowlene for SMA. The track is sitting at 5 x platinum.

At the award show, according to a statement released to the press, Nasty said: "I'd like to thank GQ for recognising me, it really means a lot. I salute you. And a special thanks to my teams at Africa Creative Agency, Universal Music, and Tall Racks for their support and hard work,". 

Another big winner on the night was Dr John Kani who took home the Lifetime Achievement Award and is also the trio of cover stars for the month. The third is Tristan Plessis, who was named the designer of the year at the event. See the full list of winners here.
