It's one of the most turbulent times in the world's history. The outbreak of the coronavirus has led to unprecedented lockdowns, and on Thursday, 26 March at midnight, South Africa will follow suit and effectively close up shop.

But that doesn't mean that grocery stores will literally close. South Africans will still be able to buy the items necessary for survival, for 21 days.

Yet, some citizens – in a very understandable state of panic – have emptied shelves and panic bought their way through toilet paper, pasta and oil supplies.

However, as President Ramaphosa said in his public address on Monday: "Don't panic buy."

To drive that message home even more local musicians such as Arno Carstens, Karen Zoid, Zolani Mahola and more teamed up – from the comfort of their homes – to write a song that you can sing when the urge to buy an extraordinary amount of toilet paper hits.
