Hailee Steinfeld fires cheating accusations at Niall Horan in cutting new song
Cape Town - Hailee Steinfeld has left no stone unturned in her new revenge track.
The new year has come roaring in and with it the singer released a song that seemingly calls out her ex, Niall Horan, for cheating on her.
The track dubbed Wrong Direction doesn’t mention her former One Direction lover by name, but it strongly hints he cheated on her, reports Daily Mail.
The melodic track kicks off with her stating, "I don’t hate you," and later saying, "I just hate all the hurt you put me through."
"And that I blame myself for letting you. Did you know that I already knew?" she continues.
"Couldn’t even see you through the smoke. Looking back, I probably should have known, but I just wanted to believe that you were out sleepin' alone," Steinfeld sings.
The singer doesn’t reveal who Horan may have been cheating on her with, but her pain about the ordeal is apparent.
But it’s not just the former Directioner’s wandering eye that the songstress calls him out on.
According to The Sun, she also references his ego, which after this track is very likely a bit bruised.
Horan recently said the split gave him inspiration for his own upcoming album.
"Going through heartbreak helped write the ballads, even some of the happy songs; the sad songs that are dressed up as happy songs sometimes," he said.
The couple broke up in December 2018 and Horan has since released two breakup tracks, reports E! News.
