Cape Town - City Press' Phumlani S Langa reviewed Ms Cosmo's video featuring Rouge, Moozlie and Sho Madjozi titled Ay Baby.
This came as a breath of fresh air. Strong sisters on one song having fun with it.

The track reminds me of a song called Ay Bay Bay by US one-hit wonder, Hurricane Chris.

The visuals open with each of the featured artists’ names in Vegas-styled neon signage, like you’re about to see a full-scale production of sorts. The beat skips around as each of the women takes a turn to administer a verse. The girls are rolling around in a party bus, squad deep with nothing but girls around them and lots of drinks. Rouge kicks things off with her unique flow. There’s quite a strong all-girl dance crew who do more with their moves than twerk in slow motion.
Moozlie is next with a fairly decent verse while chilling in a blue room with one of those ceramic dogs that seem to be making appearances in a few videos lately. Sho Madjozi, whose famous ad lib “íyahh” is used throughout this song, delivers the more rowdy verse of the trio. Dressed in a xibelani and dungarees with her hallmark braided hair, the song seems to take flight. Ms Cosmo appears alongside the dancers and gets her jive on too. It might’ve been nice to have her alongside each of the emcees as they rapped. Visually, it would’ve been cool if the video had been given a shot of drama.
Just a bit more to see, other than the laid-back dance routines and party scenes. I would’ve liked to see them trash a hotel room or something risqué. The track is not a bad look on the whole. From a production standpoint, they did well to use a beat that isn’t trap oriented. I mean, what happened to the days of the straight-up club banger? It comes across like a laid-back collaboration between sisters who respect each other’s work. Perhaps Ms Cosmo should host an all-women mixtape and drop more collaborations like this one.
