Cape Town – Let's be honest, in the months that lead up South Africa's summertime it's tough to find playlists at the party that makes everyone happy.
Some people want pop, some want rap or hip hop. That's why the folks over at Apple Music asked some of South Africa's top celebs to put together what they're into and, thankfully, there's something for everyone.
It forms part of the streaming service's Summertime Sounds, and it includes a broad selection of playlists curated by top celebrities and musicians from South Africa and around the globe including Boity, Pearl Thusi, DJ Zinhle, Jeannie D, Celeste Ntuli and many more.
About her playlist, DJ Zinhle said: "African music is on the rise, so my playlist comprises mostly African music. This makes me so proud because we are producing quality music that is also appreciated by the rest of the world. We are producing sounds that are true to us."

Pearl Thusi explains about her selection: "These are songs that either lift my soul or help me go through certain emotions whether comfortable or uncomfortable. Music marks time and sometimes takes me back to a beautiful moment."
Her eclectic pick ranges from Brenda Fassie's Weekend Special and Coldplay's Fix You to Rihanna's Love on the Brain and Tracy Chapman's She's Got Her Ticket.

Boity – whose tracks include some of her own hits as well as Sho Madjozi's John Cena and music by Samthing Soweto, Beyoncé, Chris Brown and Drake – says she picked the songs: "Because I feel that it is the perfect playlist to not only motivate me to go hard in the gym and be about my business but to also create the perfect vibes for a great summer."

Celeste Ntuli grew up in a musical family: "My dad had a band, so our day-to-day life involved a lot of jazzy melodies and rhythms from all different kinds of music. I listen to jazz and reggae mostly when I cook – it allows my mind to travel. When I'm relaxing, I turn to listen to mostly African sounds and World music. When I party or am at the braai, I love my Afrobeat, Afro-pop and South African house music."
