Billie Eilish, Cassper Nyovest, Lauryn Hill and more: 5 new songs you should be listening to right now!

Cape Town – It's a been a long, messy and tiring year.

So, for that means two things, as we approach the middle of November, you can either get ready to turn up for the party to let loose or you can get introspective.

One of the most hotly anticipated releases, from Billie Eilish, does the latter. Her new song titled Everything I Wanted, peaks about a dark dream she once had, and how she handles fame.

Whereas local musicians Cassper Nyovest and Frank Casino have everyone wondering, who got the block hot? Spoiler alert: It's them with this party track from Cassper's December 2018, album Short and Sweet.

We've rounded five releases from Billie to some local hits so that you get a taste of some new music and decide what to add to your playlist.

HERE ARE: 5 NEW SONGS YOU SHOULD BE LISTENING TO RIGHT NOW!

1. Billie Eilish

Billie Eilish returns new track titled Everything I Wanted. It’s her first single released after her debut album, When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?

As with some of her most iconic hits, the track was co-written and produced by her brother Finneas. About the song, Billie told BBC radio host, Annie Mac: "We started writing it because I literally had a dream that I killed myself and nobody cared, and all of my best friends basically came out in public and said 'oh, we never liked her.' " The song also talks about her relationship with her brother and how he's always there for her.

3. King Princess

To be honest, this song, titled Hit the Back, isn't the newest, but King Princess did a live version of it, for Vevo, earlier this week that is well worth mentioning.

It's sexy and has a beat that will make you nod your head and maybe call that special someone and ask them if they want to dance with you. We won't go into what the lyrics are about, but obviously NSFW.

4. Elvis Blue, Snotkop

What's a playlist without a fun Afrikaans treffer? Well, an incomplete one that's what!

For those of you on your way to a sokkie or a braai. This one, titled Langpad Alleen Pad, featuring two of the biggest artists in the country is for you! It's all about wanting the company of someone you hold dear and has a big chorus that is perfect for a singalong vibe with an ice-cold drink in hand.
