WATCH: Kobe Bryant's Oscar-winning short film

Cape Town – Kobe Bryant was not only a legendary basketball player, he was also an Oscar winner.

The 41-year-old won Best Animated Short at the 90th Academy Awards in 2018.

The 5-minute short film titled Dear Basketball is based on a poem he wrote after his retirement from the Los Angeles Lakers in 2016.

According to Fox News, he collaborated with animator Glen Keane and music composer John Williams on the project.

The film also won an Annie award.
