Cape Town – Dwayne Johnson's daughter Simone Garcia Johnson is the Golden Globe Ambassador for the 75th anniversary of the Golden Globe Awards, reports Variety.
HFPA president Meher Tatna made the announcement on Wednesday at the Golden Globe Ambassador event and revealed that the previous title of Miss or Mister Golden Globe has been retired.
Tatna said that the members have decided to expand the role "to embody the HFPA’s philanthropic efforts year round".
"The honouree will now be referred to as the Golden Globe Ambassador and we could not think of a better representative than Simone to carry on this tradition, as her values closely reflect everything the HFPA stands for.”

Simone announced that she will be partnering with GlobalGirl a project that empowers young women in journalism from disadvantaged areas.
Speaking about being named ambassador Simone said she is honoured and that she hopes to "serve as a role model to young people everywhere and empower them to speak out on issues they are passionate about.”
The Rock commented on Twitter that he is a very "proud papa bear."

Past honourees include: Sylvester Stallone's three daughters, Jamie Foxx's daughter Corinne, Rumer Willis, Dakota Johnson, and Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick's daughter Sosie.
The 75th Golden Globes ceremony will take place on Sunday, 7 January 2018.
