The 'Joker' takes centre stage in cinemas this weekend

Cape Town – Todd Phillips and Joaquin Phoenix's controversial Joker releases in SA cinemas this weekend.

Set in 1981, the origin story shows the Joker as a failed stand-up comedian who turns to a life of crime.

Last week the US Army issued a reportedly issued a warning to members of the armed forces about the potential threat of a mass shooting at screenings of Joker.
