Cape Town - Local DJ and actress Thando Thabethe recently revealed in an Instagram post that she would be playing the character Zinhle Malinga in a new South African movie titled Love Lives Here set to premiere in March.

Drum caught up with the 28-year-old 5FM radio show host and asked her a few questions about her new role and what we can expect from the film.

“Zinhle is a bit different to me, she's quite nerdy and a little laid back. She's an author and a romantic, but also quite fierce,” explained Thando.

“She loves love but the men in her life have other ideas, so her story line is really dedicated to all of us girls who are put through the most by men who just can't decide what they want.”

Compared to her past characters, Thando said that Zinhle’s role was the least feisty role she’s played.

“…well I think that side of her is not explored a lot in the film, she's also the most down to earth character I've played,” she added.

Thando, who recently launched a swimwear range under her underwear line, also revealed that she started shooting for Loves Lives Here a day after her last day on the Generations: The Legacy set.

“Interestingly, we shot the movie the very next day after my last day on the Generations set,” revealed the Housekeepers actress.

“…which was quite a challenge because the characters were so different, but once the director says action you do what you have to do.”
