Johnny Depp to produce and star in Waiting for the Barbarians

Cape Town - Johnny Depp and filmmaker Andrea Iervolino have reportedly formed a new production partnership which plans to develop film and digital projects starting with the movie Waiting for the Barbarians.

The film is an adaptation of South African author J.M. Coetzee's novel of the same name. 

According to Variety production of the film is set to begin later this month in Morocco and will be directed by Ciro Guerra. 

Waiting for the Barbarians centres on a British magistrate working in a small colonial town, he begins to question his loyalty to the Empire.
