Cape Town – If the reviews are anything to go by Jennifer Lopez could be getting her first Oscar nomination.

The 50-year-old's new movie, Hustlers premiered at the Toronto Film Festival this weekend.

The film is inspired by a New York Magazine article about former strippers who get revenge on their clients.

Jennifer plays Ramona a veteran stripper who mentors one of the other dancers and helps set up the scam.

Film critics have high praise for her performance, calling it a career-best.

On Wednesday Jennifer joined host Hoda Kotb on SiriusXM to talk about her new movie.

During the interview, Hoda read out some of the reviews with Jennifer visibly emotional at all the glowing compliments, to which she responded: "I've just been working hard for so long, for my whole life. It's nice."
