Disney has announced new release dates for their 2020 movie slate.

On Friday the studio revealed the big changes to their theatrical release calendar, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Mulan which was set to premiere on 27 March has moved to 24 July; Black Widow has moved to 6 November and Jungle Cruise to 30 July 2021.

Other changes include Eternals to 21 February 2021, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Rings to 7 May 2021, Doctor Strange 2 to 5 November 2021.

Artemis Fowl will skip cinemas and go straight to Disney+.

Actor Dwayne Johnson who stars in Jungle Cruise alongside Emily Blunt said in a video on Instagram: "We had some tremendous conversations with ourselves, Seven Bucks Productions and the Disney leadership team about making sure the parks are fully operational.

"That Disney cruise lines are fully operational, functional and sailing the oceans and delivering the joy to families all around the world as they love doing."

He added: "But more importantly than that it was important that everyone had emotional confidence not only here but also around the world."
