Cape Town - Adam Lambert is apparently desperate to play Elvis Presley in an upcoming biopic.
Baz Luhrmann will direct the biopic which will star Tom Hanks as Colonel Tom Parker, Elvis' manager.
According to Variety the film will explore the King's rise to fame, his music, his life and his complicated relationship with his manager.
An actor has not been cast in the role of Elvis yet.
During an interview with Studio 10, the American Idol alum shared that he was very interested in playing the role, reports the DailyMail.
He went on to say that he was often compared to singer and added that he has performed some of his songs during a tribute.
