Wendy Williams just revealed The Duchess of Sussex tried to get a job on her show
Cape Town - Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, once tried to get hired as a model on The Wendy Williams Show – but she didn’t get the job.
While discussing the controversial alleged Wimbledon photo ban of Meghan on Wednesday’s episode of The Wendy Williams Show, the 54-year-old host revealed that the duchess had once applied to work on the talk show, Daily Mail reports.
"She came here to be one of our models. We do the fashion – things like that," Wendy explained.
"This was before she met the man, the redhead, Harry. But Meghan knows Wendy’s show, Meghan wanted to work here."
Although this may come as a surprise to many, this wasn’t the first time Wendy has referenced Meghan’s attempt to work for her before her acting career took off, Evening Standard reports.
"I respect Meghan Markle’s hustle and I respect her game. However, she’s a bit of a wild card, you know, because she goes from being the Deal or No Deal girl [a game show that involved a series of women holding briefcases]. So this is a girl looking for game," she previously said on her show.
"She came here to Wendy to find out what she could do here. She’s been here, she’s been in our building, we have her DNA."
The controversial host’s opinion of the duchess has changed over the years. In 2016, she predicted the former Suits star’s relationship with Prince Harry would end saying, "The family’s going to mess it up."
But in 2017 she told her guest Priyanka Chopra that she thinks the prince and Meghan make a good couple.
Wendy made it clear on Wednesday’s episode, however, that she wasn’t on Meghan’s side regarding the alleged Wimbledon photo ban which prohibited spectators from taking photos of her, Page Six reports.
"I’m not team you," she said.
"I am team the people, and you gotta give the people what they want.
"You were an actress so you were familiar with Hollywood," she added. "And now you’re on a bigger stage being a part of the royal family, and you might not want your picture taken, but people are weird these days, always wanting pictures and junk."
