Cape Town – The Duchess of Cambridge stepped out alongside Queen Elizabeth on Tuesday, marking their first joint engagement outside the palace grounds since she married into the royal family in 2011.

The royal duo visited King's College in London for the opening of Bush House – the latest education and learning facilities on the university’s Strand Campus.

During their outing, Kate and the queen viewed the new facility which included lecture theatres, teaching rooms, and an auditorium.

They were also treated to a panoramic view of London from one of the Roof Terraces on the 8th floor.

During their visit, Kate also met with some of the students at King's College.
